2023 Cadillac XT7 Design and Platform Review
Design of the all-new 2023 Cadillac XT7 won’t introduce many surprises. Just like the rest of the XT models, XT7 will wear the same design language. Design is clean and attractive. The full-size coupe-like crossover will ride on the GM’s Omega platform. XT7 will surely arrive as a four-door model.
The front fascia is similar to the XT6 model. Some cues are borrowed from the XT5 SUV. XT7 crossover will offer larger front grille and coupe-like roofline. The front is dominated with chrome accents and LED headlights will be standard.
2023 Cadillac XT7 Style and Features
Based on the reports from the car industry, the Cadillac XT7 will be built on the platform that underpins smaller XT5 and GMC Acadia. The same architecture is the base of the all-new Chevy Traverse but while the XT5 rides on the regular wheelbase the Traverse is the long wheelbase-based model. The same should be with Cadillacs new seven-seater.
Visually, the XT7 should look pretty much like the extended XT5. The model will adopt brand’s shield-shaped grille and headlights with signature LED DRLs. It will be wider than the XT5 and will have extended rear quarters. The taillights will also be similar as on the midsize model.
Interior Offers Comfort and Techy Cabin
When it comes to the interior, the 2023 Cadillac XT7 will be very luxurious. The cabin will be practical and functional. We can bet on the premium materials and plenty of soft-touch surfaces. Interior layout is not available yet, along with the seating layout. XT7 will surely arrive with three rows of seats
That means there will be room for six, seven or possibly eight passengers. Some reports are suggesting a very customizable interior in terms of numbers of seats. Higher trim levels are offering a captain’s chairs so a reduced number of seats is logical. Whatsoever, legroom will be ample, especially up front. The spacious cargo area is another thing that is very certain. The dashboard is all-new and very unique. The large touchscreen will dominate the dash department. XT7 crossover will offer numerous driver-assistance features as standard.
2023 Cadillac XT7 Engine Output and Performance
The base model will ride on a powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 335 hp. Cadillac will surely offer at least one more engine option. A speculated 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 should arrive as an option. This unit will deliver around 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque.
We can expect a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 that will generate around 500 horses. This is just speculation for now. Speaking of speculations, the gearbox is another interesting theme. While some reports are suggesting a 10-speed transmission, the company’s 8-speed automatic transmission seems like a probable outcome. If the 2023 Cadillac XT7 arrives with the Omega platform, rear-wheel-drive setup will be standard.
Under the hood of the three-row Cadillac XT7, we should see the version of the 3.6-liter V-6 engine that powers the XT5. This engine equipped with the fuel-saving technologies delivers 310 hp and 271 pound-feet of torque in the current XT5. More power and higher torque should be available for the larger XT7. Cadillac will likely use the 8-speed automatic transmission. Both two- and four-wheel drive will be available.
Like the new Traverse, Cadillac could also offer a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in some markets. Considering the growing offer of the hybrid versions, Cadillac might also go in that direction.
News
The growing popularity of the crossovers and SUVs overshadowed the demand for sedan models and most brands changing their course toward high-riding vehicles. After the big investments in sedans, Cadillac is also turning the focus toward currently more lucrative segment. After the redesigned XT5 which replaced the SRX, the GM’s luxury division has promised to expand its crossover range.
Cadillac has confirmed the arrival of the new premium compact model called the XT4 but the premium brand is also reported to bring a new three-row crossover SUV by 2023. The confirmation hasn’t come from the Cadillac but the new model should be marketed as the Cadillac XT7 As the name suggests it will get the position below the truck-based Escalade and recently redesigned XT5. The model will be based on the uni-body platform promising better driving dynamics than the bulky Escalade and higher interior comfort than the XT5.
2023 Cadillac XT7 Interior and Equipment
Interior of the new XT7 shouldn’t also be the surprise as it should be very similar to the cabin of the XT5. Of course, the XT7 will offer greater interior comfort and higher cargo capacity.

All XT7 will come with brand’s latest CUE infotainment interface, automatic climate control, premium accents, power front seats, etc. Higher trims will bring more premium features but all model will get an array of the advanced safety systems.
2023 Cadillac XT7 Price and Release Date
It is perhaps too early to discuss the price of the all-new 2023 Cadillac XT7. Pricing is not available yet, but we expect the price between $40,000 and $50,000 for the base model. This coupe-like crossover will look to rival the newest models from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. XT7 model will become available by the end of 2023.
